On-Page SEO is one of the most important and vital technique you can use, not only for achieving better ranking on Google but also for doing a successful business online.
Every business campaign involved your website if your website is not optimised properly, for both users and Search engine it will highly affect your business
You can make the best product for your online business, but what will engage people to visit your website is on page SEO. If your page is not optimised properly, and you have done some big or little mistakes; it is going to cost you more.
Before going in very deep techniques about SEO to improve your ranking on search engines, we want to share you very basic terminology.
What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
In short, words SEO is the package you have to install or term that you use to improve your website ranking on Google. In general, this is the technique, which enables you to optimise every single page of your website for users and Search Engines. Page titles, Meta tags, description of your page, URL of the page all these things are included in search engine optimisation.
Off-Page SEO is about improving and making the reputation of your website by giving signals to search engines. It shows the quality and trust of your website. Link building is one of the major parts of off-Page SEO.
Is On-Page SEO is more important than Off-Page SEO:
Off-Page and On-Page SEO, both are important to engage your customers and to achieve maximum exposure. You have to affect search engine and your users to achieve bigger goals. In my opinion on the page, SEO is more important that SEO, on the page is all about your customers and audience, if you have done some mistakes on off page level, on page SEO and your user’s engagements will hide those flaws. User trust is the most important factor in ranking high on search engines.
On-Page Search Engine Optimization:
Your page titles are the first thing that Search engine crawls when a user searches on Google. This is the most important factors on your site. Each page or post on your website should have a unique title, including the main keyword of the page.
Always try to engage your customer more specifically, for example, if you are writing an article about “best Hair dress” you should put that keyword on the title of the page. If you write “Best hairdresser in Lahore” OR best hairdresser for curling hair” if will engage your customer more specifically, and definitely will drive more traffic.
Therefore, whenever someone will search on Google with keyword Best hairdresser than it will be greater chances of showing up your article On Google searches.
Meta descriptions are the second most important factor to increase your ranking on Google, after titles of the page, search engine crawls the Meta description of the pages. Many people forget to include Meta description for their pages. In Meta description, always try to put your main keyword that you already have put on the title of the page.
For example, if we continue the Hairdresser example, you should include the “best hairdresser” your main keyword on Meta description and words that have very close relevancy regarding hairdresser, should be there in the Meta description. Meta decryption should be short, very specific, and much targeted; it should not be like Bush around.
On-Page SEO is all about relevancy, you should include some set of keywords in the form of Meta tags. I have experienced that Meta tags rank before than main keywords and titles. So, do not forget to add some relevant Meta tags out of your post.
You can use some built in word press plugin to monitor your on page SEO, but do not go more specifically on the results of this plugin. At the end, just goes through the results of this plugin and add some major things to your page, if you forgot to add before.
This build in word press plugin will show every factor to rank better on search engine, must check page title, Meta description and Meta tags before publishing your post
- URL Structure:
As I have mentioned above in the post, on page SEO is all about the relevancy of your keywords, add a very short search engine friendly URL you are your pages. Short URLS found impressive in on page SEO. Always add your keyword, or a relevant keyword, do not add stuff like that site.com/365/738/subfolder/keyword.
You should add a URL like this www.website/best-hair-dresser.
This URL is very short, specific and very targeted. This will convert your audience into a customer.
Body Tags (H1, H2, H3 etc):
When you are writing an article, your goal should be to engage your audience not search engine. Do not write filthy content, that will increase your bounce rate and at the end, Google will find you and put your website on Google Dance, or de-index your site
Always try to engage your customer, and write content for users not for search engines.
Always try to break your content into the smaller section, there should be a very targeted and relevance topic, and flow is immensely important.
Break your content into H1, H2, H3 tags, this not only impress your customers but Search engines as well.
When crawls your website and want to index it, it only finds the H1, H2, H3 tags, Meta description of your page, and indexes all these things. When there would be a user on a Search engine, and search for a specific keyword Google will show the best results that indexed already.
Always tries to put your main keyword in H1 tag and do not try to put your keyword in all tags, it will spam your website, and somehow filthy as well.
These were some basic units of on page SEO, there are also some other factors that can build your page optimization better, like keyword density, image alt tag, internal linking, better navigation of your website. The most important were which I mentioned above in the post.
